A San Tan Valley woman shot in the head by her husband Tuesday evening has died.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that 37-year-old Sandra Ramos passed away Thursday morning.

Detectives say 45-year-old Gilbert Ramos shot his wife, killed his two young children, 10-year-old Nicholas and 8-year-old Emma, and then took his own life.

Sandra Ramos was still alive when deputies found her. She was transported to a Valley hospital in extremely critical condition before she died.

The Sheriff’s Office says they are still trying to determine why Gilbert Ramos killed his family.
