Central Arizona College unveiled earlier this month plans for the first phase of its proposed San Tan Valley campus, set to break ground at the end of 2012.
The campus site, bordered by Bella Vista Road to the north, Schnepf Road to the east , and the Union Pacific RailRoad to the west, is slated to initially consist of 74,250 square feet of facilities spread over four buildings, as well as a central plant.
The buildings will comprise educational space – including classrooms, computer and science labs, dance studios, offices, a library, student center, learning resource center and classrooms. Administration offices and multi-purpose space will also fill one of the buildings.
Over the course of a 25-year buildout plan, the campus may reach between 680,000 and 720,000 square feet.
While the campus will offer a breadth of education programs, CAC is looking to house several signature opportunities at the San Tan Campus, according to a press release. Such programs may be part of the health care career field, including a Certified Nursing Assistant program.
