Picture the scene: The year is 1863 and President Abraham Lincoln has passed the Emancipation Proclamation to end slavery. Three years into the Civil War, Dr. and Mrs. Roberts are trying to live in a war-torn America.
You can listen in on the conversation on Saturday as actors re-enact an after-dinner coffee discussion of the manners, customs and current events of the Civil War. The re-enactment begins at 1 p.m. at the Mesa Main Library, 64 E. First St. The play is free and will be followed by a short question-and-answer session.
