The Mesa Baseline Rotary Club believes in helping a "sister" in need: Since 1992, the club has sponsored a medical mission to Mesa's sister city, Guaymas, Mexico, to help people there with hearing problems.

Bob Jensen, an audiologist and member of the Mesa Baseline Rotary Club, has organized this year's mission team of audiologists and doctors.

During the four-day mission, the team will work out of a Guaymas school for students with mental and physical challenges, and will, among other things, conduct hearing tests and medical exams, and fix hearing aids.

All services are free. The Guaymas Rotary Club provides food and entertainment and helps in arranging transportation and lodging. The Mesa Baseline Rotary Club provides funding for the mission and often sends club members to act as interpreters and assistants.

Since 1992, over 3,000 patients have been seen and over 1,800 hearing aids have been fitted for people through this program.
