Mesa Mayor Scott Smith is one of several delegates currently in Mexico to discuss economic issues with several North American officials.
Smith is one of several corporate, civic and government officials from the U.S., Canada and Mexico participating in the Global Cities Initiative conference that began Nov. 11 and ends this Thursday. The scheduled included visits to Mexico City and Querétaro to review the roles the cities and countries represented have in North American trade, to discuss competitiveness strategies and to foster business relations between the groups involved.
"I am honored to be invited to participate in the Global Cities Initiative," Smith said in a press release. "North American trade is vitally important to our success as a nation and discussing strategies with our neighbors can only strengthen our competitiveness and boost our economies."
