Children can brush up on the bicycle safety skills March 31 with a free bike rodeo at Cardon Children’s Medical Center in Mesa. The rodeo is open to kids 3-16, who can bring their bikes and scooters to practice traffic safety skills in a controlled environment. Also, a skills event will let bicyclists practice and develop skills that will help them avoid typical accidents and become safer bicyclists.
Children who don’t have a bike can also attend to learn safety skills.
Free bicycle helmets will be fitted to the first 300 children, and raffle drawings will be held for bicycles and locks.
The rodeo is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at Cardon, 1400 S. Dobson Road. For more information, visit www.safekidsmaricopaaz.org,
