A Valley fitness instructor is looking to help one Arizona family struggling with weight issues get back on track to a healthier lifestyle.

Ammon Woods, fitness trainer and owner of The Cell, a crossfit gym in Mesa, said he wants to help end childhood obesity, but also help a family learn the fundamentals of healthy eating.

Inspired by ABC's "Extreme Weight Loss," Woods is putting on his own local version called, "A Quest of a lifetime with Ammon Woods."

The 6-month transformation includes weekly high-intensity workouts, group cardio exercises and nutrition education. It's open to families (up to 4 members) who need to lose between 50-200 pounds.

How do you apply?

Those interested need to submit a video explaining why they should be selected for the project, describe what reaching a healthy weight would mean, and how it would change their family. View more information here.
