Although no major closures are scheduled along Phoenix-area freeways this weekend, drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while the following restrictions are in place in southeast Mesa:
· Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) off-ramp closed will be closed at Hawes Road from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 30, for work related to State Route 24, the Gateway Freeway, construction. Detour: Drivers can exit at Power Road.
· Ellsworth Road will be narrowed to one lane in both directions north of Pecos Road near Gateway Airport in Mesa from 10 p.m. Sunday, March 31, to 5 a.m. Monday, April 8, for work related to future connection with State Route 24. Detour: Please allow extra travel time during weeklong restrictions, especially during rush hours, be prepared to slow down and merge safely in work zone. Consider alternate north-south routes, including Power Road and Ironwood Road.
