Volunteers are needed and more entry spots are open for the East Valley Veterans Parade “Honoring Our Veterans and Military, One Parade at a Time” on Monday, Nov. 12.
Volunteers are needed to help coordinate entries, hand out ballots for the People’s Choice Award and other assignments the day of the parade.
So far, 60 entries have been confirmed for the parade, but there is ample room for more—last year there were more than 100 entries. When submitting an application, an organization should include information about how the entry recognizes, honors and/or supports military veterans and active military personnel.
For more information about submitting an entry or volunteering, contact Jim Monroe, parade chairman, at j.c.monroe@cox.net. The East Valley Veterans Parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Center Street at Third Place and travel south on Center Street to First Avenue.

Let's hope that our newly "enfranchised" Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, Transexual and Cross-Dressing current and past Military members will remember that this is a "Family Event" and refrain from kissing, hugging, hand-holding and other inappropriate displays of affection.
It's hard to march in cadence when you are "smooching" with your "partner".
