Twenty-six junior athletes from Thailand will visit Mesa this month to compete in this year’s National Junior Disability Championships.

The NJDC is a disabled, multi-sport competition held July 21 through July 28 at Mesa Community College, Kino Aquatic Center, Mesa High School and the Broadway Recreation Center.

Athletes will compete in track and field events, the pentathlon, swimming, archery, power lifting and table tennis.

Last year’s event brought more than 750 disabled athletes to Mesa. Registration is closed, but the event is free and open to the public. To view the competition schedule, go to www.njdc2012.com.
