Stories of women through aprons
Every piece of clothing has a history and story to tell. So do aprons.
Historian and apron designer Bobbe Shafer shares a journey through women’s historical roles through aprons 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Mesa Main Library, 64 E. First St.
“Aprons: Memories from the past” will look at the history of aprons from 1940 to 1970. Aprons have inspired designers and influenced fashion trends in 20th century American culture and folk art.
The presentation will include slides of vintage apron styles and a collection of historical aprons.
