Mosquito spraying is scheduled midnight Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday in a number of areas in Mesa.

The Maricopa County Environmental Services Department conducts spraying in areas where an excessive number of mosquitoes are caught in traps or when any mosquitoes caught test positive for West Nile Virus, which can be transmitted to humans.

The first area of spraying scheduled in Mesa from Elliot to Warner roads and from Meridian to Signal Butte roads.

The second area is from Baseline to Guadalupe roads and from Crismon to Ellsworth roads.

The third area is from Guadalupe to Elliot roads and from Meridian to Signal Butte roads.

The fourth area is from McKellips to Brown roads and Country Club to Mesa drives.

The fifth area is from McKellips to Brown roads and from Gilbert to Lindsay roads.
