Donate groceries, help a family

A New Leaf, which provides shelter and behavioral health services for children and families in need, is accepting donations of nonperishable food and grocery gift cards through July. Donations will be distributed to La Mesita Family Homeless Shelter, the East Valley Men’s Center Shelter, and Faith House and Autumn House domestic violence shelters and youth residential programs.

Donations are being accepted at the following New Leaf locations:

• Development Office, 845 E. University Drive, Mesa.

• La Mesita Family Homeless Shelter, 2254 W. Main St., Mesa.

• Riverboat Acres, 18300 W. Bell Road, Surprise.

Grocery store, Wal-Mart and Target gift cards can be mailed to: A New Leaf, 868 E. University Drive, Mesa, Ariz., 85203. Call (480) 464-4648 for more information.

    Did you have a point, or just showcasing your xenophobia?

    I'm as against illegals as anyone...but to flame an article because the name of the center is Spanish? Really?
