Mesa is seeking input from residents to name a new wave feature at an aquatic complex in west Mesa.
The winning entry could receive a 2010 pass and a chance to be the first rider when the feature opens. Until a new name is chosen, the wave is being called FlowRider.
The FlowRider will be a new amenity to the Rhodes Junior High School swim complex. It simulates the feel of surfing or snowboarding. Users would have to pay an extra fee.
The feature is aimed at attracting local children and those from across the Valley, said Mesa recreation supervisor Darla Armfield.
Work on the complex is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.
