The Mesa Chamber of Commerce has chosen a new executive director, Peter Sterling, who has a background as a communications and marketing consultant.
Mostly recently, Sterling has been working with the East Valley Partnership. He arrived in the Valley in early 2009 after working at ad firm BBDO in Los Angeles.
Sterling, 45, was chosen after an eight-month long search that attracted 42 candidates. He replaces Charlie Deaton, who is retiring after 18 years in the post.
Mesa’s chamber was formed in 1912 and counts more than 900 members.
