Mesa to host Historic Homeowner's Expo in June

The Mesa Preservation Foundation, Arizona Preservation Foundation and State Historic Preservation Office/Arizona State Parks, in conjunction with the 2013 Arizona Historic Preservation Conference, will present a free Historic Homeowner's Expo June 15 at the Hilton Phoenix/Mesa, 1011 W. Holmes Ave. in Mesa.

“The Expo will provide homeowners information on restoring and rehabilitating their homes, improving energy efficiency, making additions and learning about the history of their property and neighborhood,” Mesa Planning Director and Historic Preservation Officer John Wesley said.

The Historic Homeowner’s Expo will have vendor booths and education sessions from experts on such topics as Researching Your Historic Home, Neighborhood Advocacy, Developing Promotional Maps, When to Hire an Architect and Tax Incentives.

The 11th annual Arizona Historic Preservation Conference will be held at the Hilton Phoenix/Mesa June 12-14. The City of Mesa and Arizona Museum of Natural History are two of the conference sponsors. For more information, visit www.azpreservation.com.
