Mesa residents can meet face-to-face with Mesa Police officers and city officials during the 15th annual G.A.I.N. events 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.

G.A.I.N., or Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods, is designed to enhance community block watches and police/fire partnerships to prevent crime, according to a news release. Events are scheduled by individual neighborhoods.

“GAIN night is always a fun event and a great way to get to know your neighbors and create a unified voice against crime in your neighborhood,” Mayor Scott Smith said.

Members of several Mesa offices — including fire, solid waste, neighborhood outreach, code compliance and animal control — are participating and will make trips around the city.

For more information about G.A.I.N., visit http://www.mesaaz.gov/police/gain.aspx or contact Mesa Police Crime Prevention Officer Lindy Marino at (480) 644-3921 or melinda.marino@mesaaz.gov.
