Mesa is asking residents to consider donating their gently used or new swimsuits, as about five to 10 people are turned away daily from Mesa pools because they don’t have proper attire.

“We started this campaign about four years ago when we noticed a lot of kids were coming to the pools with no swimsuits,” Aquatics Coordinator, Aimee Manis said.

Mesa Aquatics is in need of boy’s youth swim trunks in any size and color as long is as it is in good condition. The suits will be made available at each Mesa pool for customers who show up without swimming attire. Under city code, all customers must wear proper swimming attire when using any Mesa pool.

Suits can be dropped off at the Mesa Parks, Recreation and Commercial Facilities office, 200 S. Center St., Building No. 1, Mesa, until the end of the season.
