A man is under arrest for an alleged incident that began as a burglary in Chandler and concluded with a vehicular collision in Mesa.

According to a press release sent by the Chandler Police Department, the incident began at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 16 when a 17-year-old returned to her home on the 1300 block of S. Central Drive to find a suspect -- identified as 25-year-old Gabriel Juan Lamb -- burglarizing the house. The suspect fled the scene, but the witness took note of the color of the vehicle and its license plate and reported the information to the police.

A Chandler officer noticed the vehicle at the border between Mesa and Chandler along Dobson Road and Avenue and made a traffic stop at 12:52 p.m. The suspect, however, drove away from the officer and proceeded to get into a vehicular accident in Mesa on Alma School and Pecos roads less than 10 minutes later. The suspect attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was apprehended by a detective from the Mesa Police Department.

The suspect is currently at an area hospital, and two other people were taken to a hospital for injuries tied to the accident.
