Inside the Bungalow will host a benefit from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday for retired Mesa police officer Lance Heivilin and his family. Heivilin, who retired in 2010 after directing the daily operations of the Fusion Center, was diagnosed with cancer in October and has multiple types of the disease throughout his body.

The benefit will include food stations provided by Special Moments Catering; beverage stations from the Bungalow; entertainment from Mosaic; face painting from 3 to 5 p.m.; a live auction and raffle; and photo opportunities with Santa in a life-size sleigh from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Donations are $20 for adults, $10 for children 10 and younger. Checks should be made payable to MCPAAA (Mesa Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association). Donations can also be mailed to MCPAAA at P.O. Box 366, Mesa, AZ 85211-0366. For more information, call (480) 844-2353.
