Valley of the Sun United Way and Mesa United Way will join together this week for the fifth Project Connect event held in the City of Mesa since 2009. It is an effort to prevent and end homelessness in the community.

During the daylong event, individuals and families can learn about services available for those experiencing or facing a job loss, homelessness or medical crisis. It will be held 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Christian Church, 7335 E. Broadway Road, Mesa.

Volunteers are needed. To help, see www.vsuw.org/projectconnect or contact volunteer@vsuw.org.
