Beginning Nov. 15, residents across the East Valley can purchase a present to provide a lonely senior in the East Valley a holiday gift.

The Be a Santa to a Senior program collects presents from the community to give to seniors who are lonely and needy during the holidays by having items listed on ornaments hanging on trees located in Walgreens across the East Valley. The ornaments featuring seniors’ first names and gift requests, and people can pick an ornament from the tree, purchase the items listed, and return the items unwrapped with the ornaments attached to the store. The trees will be on display from Nov. 15 until Dec. 14.

The program is run by Home Instead Senior Care and in partnership with Neighbors Who Care, East Valley Adult Resources, Mesa Public School District and various volunteers and community members.
