Hundreds showed up to Mesa Police Headquarters Tuesday night to light a candle in honor of a fallen officer.

The vigil was held for Officer Brandon Mendoza, who was killed by a wrong-way driver Monday morning.

Those who knew him say Brandon was a great police officer and an even better friend.

He was instrumental in reviving his community and cleaning up the streets during his short career.
