Some adorable Mesa babies will show off their swim skills on national TV this coming Tuesday.
NBC's TODAY Show recently visited Mesa's SWIMkids USA to highlight what babies are able to do in the water at a very early age as part of a story the news crew is doing on baby swim classes and the Water SMART babies program. The drowning prevention movement encourages doctors to give parents a "prescription" for swim lessons at a child's 9-month well-check, as well as remind parents to set pool barriers and get CPR training.
The TODAY crew interviewed nationally recognized swim expert Lana Whitehead, who has been teaching babies to swim since 1971. She is the owner of SWIMkids USA in Mesa. This segment will be seen on the fourth hour of the TODAY show April 30, at about 11 a.m. Arizona time.
