The Everest College Phoenix-Mesa campus recognized an educator for his efforts with a lifetime achievement award for his work in Hispanic, and multicultural education.

Alfredo G. de los Santos Jr. received an honorary degree, doctor of humanities, during the college’s recent graduation ceremony. Santos served as the vice chancellor for Student and Educational Development for Maricopa Community Colleges for more than 21 years, and has served on a number of boards, commissions and councils.

“On behalf of the Mesa campus at Everest College Phoenix, it is our honor to recognize Dr. de los Santos for his dedication to education including his focus on Hispanic and multicultural communities in Arizona as well as regionally and nationally,” said Edward Johnson, Ph.D., president of Everest College Phoenix.
