The City of Mesa, in coordination with HandsOn Greater Phoenix, is recruiting residents to volunteer their time for a large-scale community service project in January.
Approximately 20 volunteers are needed to pain the exterior of an elderly Air Force veteran’s home on Jan. 18 and Jan. 20 from 8 a.m. to noon both days. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age, and anyone who is either 16 or 17 who wants to participate without a parent or guardian must have a signed youth waiver form.

The project is part of the MLK Weekend of Service that honors Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy. The weekend also encompasses the annual MLK Parade on Jan. 20 from noon to 4 p.m.
