A man was robbed at gunpoint after another man jumped inside his car at a Mesa Circle K convenience store and forced him to drive him to a nearby neighborhood late Monday.

About 11:45 p.m., a man walked out of the store at 6005 E. McKellips Road and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the driver of the vehicle while demanding his wallet, according to police.

The alleged robber then ordered the man to drive him to the area in the 8200 block of East University Drive. While en route, he stole his cash, credit card and cell phone.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5-foot-10 and 220 pounds with short brown hair. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, black T-shirt, black basketball shorts with a white stripe down the sides, black socks and black tennis shoes.

The driver of the car was not injured and called police after he got home.

If anyone has any information on the crime, they can call Mesa police at (480) 644-2211.
