Mesa police are looking for a man considered to be "armed and dangerous" connected to an overnight fatal shooting at a gas station.

Detective Steve Berry, spokesperson for Mesa Police Department, said police are looking for a man who shot and killed an employee at the Valero gas station near east Broadway and south Gilbert Roads in Mesa.

Friends tell ABC15 Ibrahim Robles was in his fifties.

Police said a black male shot an employee around 11 p.m. Friday night. A customer who was in the store at the time of the shooting called authorities. The suspect fled the scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, said Berry.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his 20s, medium build, wearing a light-colored hat with a dark-colored bill, black or dark-colored long-sleeve shirt, gray or light-colored pants and black shoes, according to the police report.

Police said the suspect should be considered "armed and dangerous and not approached," according to the police report.

Friends of the victim, Ibrahim Robles, say they want answers.

They don't think this was an isolated shooting.

Up at the register, which was a crime scene just a day ago, it's all his friends can talk about.

They say Ibrahim's son also worked at the store. There are posters of the suspect posted on the windows outside.

"I knew it was revenge. Because people don't take lightly when you mess up their problems," said Ibrahim's close friend Dennis Daege.

Daege says Ibrahim was a no-nonsense kind of guy who kept his customers in line.

"He was a person that, quote, unquote, 'don't play with me, I won't play with you,'" he said.

He may have seemed tough on the outside, but Dennis says Ibrahim always had his back.

Dennis wants the suspect caught to bring justice to his friend.
