Banner Desert and Cardon Children’s will host a grand opening Saturday for the largest emergency center in Arizona. The emergency center will open with 103 treatment bays and an expectation to treat more than 100,000 people annually. Construction took place in a phased project over nearly seven years.

The public is welcome at the ceremony 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to learn more about the services. During that time, participants can take a tour and meet staff, receive health information and get an up-close view of local emergency vehicles. Free bike helmets will be given to the first 75 kids.

The hospital is at 1400 S. Dobson Road, Mesa. Parking will be available on the east side of the hospital campus, near the new emergency center. For more information, email bdmcpr@bannerhealth.com
