A woman was flown from Mesa to Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center after she was thrown from her motorcycle Wednesday, Mesa police said.

The woman was travelling southbound near the speed limit on Greenfield Road when her motorcycle, for unknown reasons, began moving side to side, Mesa police said. The wobble caused the rider to fall off and she landed in a concrete ditch by the side of the road.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash, Mesa police said. The rider had multiple pelvic area and upper leg fractures, which could be life threatening. She is currently in the intensive care unit in critical condition.

There was evidence of possible impairment, Mesa police said. Blood and urine samples were taken.
