Animal Care and Control lowers microchip fee
The chances of your lost pet being found and safely returned home just got better.
The Maricopa County Animal Care and Control has reduced its pet microchip fee from $25 to $10. This cost reduction makes it easier for County residents to afford the service, making it more likely their pet will be tracable if lost.
Max Wilson, Chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors — the board unanimously approved the change — said it will help to reduce the time lost pets spend in the shelter.
Since July 2011, 214 pets have been implanted with microchips at MCACC shelters.
