The Mesa Kimball East Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host its annual Great Turkey Challenge on Nov. 26 to provide turkeys to St. Vincent De Paul.

The stake will accept turkeys, cash or check — payable to St. Vincent De Paul — at the Kimball East Stake Center parking lot, 4640 E. Holmes Ave. Mesa, between 5:30 and 8 p.m. to donate to the charity located in Phoenix. The stake’s goal is to donate 1,000 turkeys to St. Vincent De Paul.

The stake will also collect items to donate to Helen’s Hope Chest in Mesa via the JaKelle’s Christmas Box program during the Great Turkey Challenge. Donations of unwrapped items like toys, sports equipment, games, movies, books and gift cards for infants through 18-year-olds will be accepted and given to local foster children. The goal is to provide presents for 1,800 children this holiday season.
