this is an old story, but where are all the cubbie fans this year that supposedly bring millions to our economy? Cubs attendance ranks below the middle of the pack this spring. Only 5,000 today

Uhh, I still don’t get why the city agreed to this in full. Those practice fields are a waste of money at that location. We have been sold, duked and no one in the city saw this potential waste of money. I like the stadium and idea of bringing another team here. But if this location is one of the best in the valley, why are we building practice fields on it??? Fitch park has room due to city facilities. Why not combine and upgrade those fields and add fields for two teams? Then used the rest of riverview land to truly build a wrigleyfield west? I don’t see it?

Really, who is surprised? Once they announced the 3 buildings I laughed and said this is not wriglefield west. What a joke. Im not surprised at all.
However, in the agreement, I remember that for them to get the money, they have to build everything. If they dont, then we dont get sc rewed. We will see.
Last, why are we putting so much into MORE RETAIL! I swear these leaders, this city does not have any vision.

reading between the lines, this will never be built. The Cubs just want their new paid for stadium.
Also, Adam please explain to us how this is a financial boost? Its costing $99 million on paper before all the extra's we haven't been told about but where and when is that money being recouped?

I think some of you may have misread the article. Nowhere does it say Wrigleyville West will not be built. It just says that it won't be built until the ballpark is done... which seems like a smart move.
I, for one, am still glad this is happening. It will be a financial boost to Mesa's economy.

AHA the boondoggle begins. Way to go MESA. Get rid of the best 9 hole golf course in Phoenix and get ready to take it where it hurts. Too bad the politicians in this state are slowly turning AZ. into CA. Glad I am out of here soon.
