If you have expertise or ideas that could help the Mesa City Council make decisions on major projects, the city encourages you to apply to be on one of its many advisory boards. This could be a good opportunity for a youth baseball coach who is interested in park design, an architect with knowledge of planning and zoning, or any number of others.
The city has many positions opening up this summer, including with the Planning and Zoning, Parks and Recreation and Judicial Advisory boards. The city looks for new members every June, when terms expire on some of the city’s 25 boards and committees.
For a complete list of advisory board and committee openings along with meeting information and application forms, go to www.mesaaz.gov/government/advisory. If you have questions about a specific board or committee, call (480) 644-3002. All appointments to the boards are recommended by the mayor and approved by the City Council.
