Mesa residents who need more information about what it takes to become a homeowner can attend a free workshop on Oct. 19.

Co-hosted by the City’s Housing and Community Development Department, the workshop will feature an overview of Mesa’s HOME program — also known as the Home Investment Partnership Program — and Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Chicanos Por La Causa will have a representative available to talk about the organization’s role in the home buying process, and a mortgage consultant from a local bank will discuss loan programs, documents needed to purchase a first home, and other related topics.

The event is Oct. 19 from 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Main Library, located at 64 E. First Drive, on Oct. 19. For more information, contact Ray Thimesch at (480) 644-4521, via email at ray.thimesch@mesaaz.gov or register online at http://evtnow.com/5xc.
