The Mesa FamilySearch Library will host a free presentation about how the United States Colonies were originally populated by English convicts.

Katie Gertz, president of the East Valley Chapter of the Family History Society of Arizona, will speak at the 7 p.m. presentation on April 23 at the Mesa FamilySearch Training Center Auditorium at 464 E. First Ave.

The library is now also offering Boy Scout Merit Badge classes at their location at 41 S. Hobson St. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. These classes will cover basics of doing genealogy and meet all the requirements set by the Boy Scouts of America.
