A Mesa woman accused of stabbing her husband after arguing about their former lovers has been sentenced to three years' probation with domestic violence terms.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 22-year-old Noelle Clough also was sentenced Thursday to 90 days deferred jail time as part of her plea agreement.

Police say Clough was drinking with her husband in the early morning hours last June 11 at their Mesa home. They then began arguing about their past lovers.

Clough told police her husband threw two knives on the ground and that he asked her to stab him with one of them.

She stabbed him in the back as he walked away from her and then called police. He survived the stabbing.

When officers arrived, they say Clough asked them to shoot her.

Keep all the facts the same and reverse the genders and he would be looking at years in prison with a Sex Offender brand for the rest of his life. Her only mistake was he survived so she couldn't pull the "he tried to attack me and rape me" card.
