The Department of Veterans Affairs will open a health care clinic in Gilbert to serve veterans from the south East Valley region.

The two-story, 60,000-square-foot clinic will open in spring 2014 on the northeast corner of Val Vista Drive and Market Street.

“Our veterans have earned the right to first-class medical care through their service to our nation. This facility will help fulfill our commitment to them,” Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki said in a news release.

The clinic is another step toward the town’s goal of developing a strong health care industry that provides jobs within Gilbert boundaries.
