Banner Ironwood Medical Center welcomed its 1,000th baby delivery for 2012 on Dec. 29.

Averleigh Joy was born 1:14 a.m. Dec. 29 to Jennifer and Matthew Larson of San Tan Valley with the help of Dr. Mandeep Kingra. Averleigh became the sixth child in the Larson family, joining two sisters and three brothers.

The medical center reached other milestones this year, treating its 50,000th patient in the emergency department since opening in November 2010. Doctors also delivered 106 babies in August, a record breaker for the Women and Infant Services department.

I wonder how many of those deliveries the taxpayer had to foot the bill for. Not to mention the biological strain those babies will put on this already overpopulated mudball we call earth. Good job people, breed us into extinction and celebrate about it in the media.
