Mosquito spraying scheduled for East Valley areas

Mosquito spraying is scheduled for midnight Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday in areas of Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek and Tempe.

The Maricopa County Environmental Services Department conducts mosquito spraying when area traps catch a number of mosquitoes or when those caught mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus, which can be transferred to humans.

The first area in Gilbert is from Warner to Ray roads and from Power to Recker roads.

The second area in Gilbert is from Pecos to Germann roads and from Val Vista Drive to Greenfield Road.

The area in Mesa is from Guadalupe to Elliot roads and from Sossaman to Hawes roads.

The area in Queen Creek is within an area from Riggs Road to Hunt Highway and from Higley to Recker roads.

The area in Tempe is within an area from State Route 202 to Chandler Boulevard and from 56th Street to Kyrene Road.
