Dusty air prompts health watch for Thursday
Tribune
East Valley Tribune
|
A health watch has been issued for Thursday because of dust
particles in the air.
The Maricopa County Department of Air Quality issued the health
watch because two Valley monitors exceeded the “particulate matter
10” standards this week. Particulate matter 10 refers to tiny
particles in the air that can aggravate the lungs, especially
existing health conditions such as asthma.
With a large trough of low pressure from the Gulf of Alaska
moving through the U.S. Thursday, winds will increase, setting the
stage for potential blowing dust.
