Gilbert public works director Lonnie Frost has been invited as one of six speakers to take part in the "Performance Challenge" session of the Global Water Summit in Berlin, Germany, Saturday through Tuesday.

Past speakers have included former Vice President Al Gore, Queen Noor of Jordan, and Nobel Peace Prize Winner Muhammad Yunus. The guest of honor this year is Kofi Annan, a Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Frost was invited to speak on the topic of water standards and performance challenges. He will focus on the construction of the Santan Vista Water Treatment Plant. The drinking-water plant operates in partnership with Chandler, using a design that has saved taxpayers millions of dollars.

Frost has worked for the town since October 1984.

Ummm, I heard the EPA test results for Phoenix, AZ cows' milk & drinking water was just released & the results exceeded the U.S. EPA Federal standards for radioactive IODINE-131 isotope. Ummm, maybe Lonnie Frost of Gilbert could explain that in the Water quality convention in Berlin, Germany...which like over 20 other U.S. cities + France recently are suffering from the same problem...radioactive FALLOUT from Fukushima Nuclear Reactor(s) meltdown in Japan, hmmmm? BTW, Hilo, Hawaii's cows' milk & water were tested & their test results were 300-2,000 times the Federal EPA radiation standards for radioactive IODINE-131, Cesium-134 & Cesium-137. The Fukushima, Japan nuclear reactor meltdown has contaminated the U.S. Food Supply already, as these EPA tests prove.
