The Higley Center for the Performing Arts has three performances scheduled in January featuring renowned entertainers from all over the globe.

Kicking off the “World of Music” series is American balladeer/songwriter Daniel Boling on Jan. 5 at 3 p.m. Boling, who plays the guitar and banjitar, has produced six albums, and he earned both the top song writer recognition at the Santa Fe Bluegrass and Old Time Musical Festival in 2012 and the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival’s first-place award for songwriting in 2007.

Following Boling is British singer Peter Noone, who will perform at the center on Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. Noone is best known for his work with Herman’s Hermits and is the author of 24 gold hits like “I’m Into Something Good,” “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter” and “I’m Henry VIII, I am.” Other highlights of his career include his work with David Bowie, a performance on the “Ed Sullivan Show” and his role in a worldwide tour of “The Pirates of Penzance.”

Rounding out the international series is the Carlos Nakai Trio that will perform at 8 p.m. on Jan. 24. The trio, consisting of R. Carlos Nakai, Will Clipman and William Eaton, blends Native American sounds with modern and historical instruments, and has a penchant for improvisation.

The Higley Center for the Performing Arts is located at 4132 E. Pecos Road in Gilbert. More information is available by visiting higleyarts.org or calling (480) 279-7194.
