To help homeless veterans, students and teachers at Higley’s Centennial, Cortina, Gateway Pointe and San Tan elementary schools are gathering clothing donations for the nonprofit Arizona StandDown.

Items needed include new underwear, new socks, and new or gently-used jeans.

Contributors can drop off their donations at the annual Veterans Day celebration Nov. 9 at Higley High School, or they can drop them off at the front offices at the four schools until Nov. 8.
