Memorial golf tournament:

A fundraising golf tournament will be held to benefit the family of slain Gilbert police officer Lt. Eric Shuhandler. Registration for the event will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday with golf beginning noon at Seville Golf and Country Club, 6683 S. Clubhouse Drive.

A fundraising golf tournament will be held to benefit the family of slain Gilbert police officer Lt. Eric Shuhandler. Registration for the event will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday with golf beginning noon at Seville Golf and Country Club, 6683 S. Clubhouse Drive.

Registration is $100 per person, with additional donations encouraged.

All money raised through the tournament and accompanying silent auction will go to the Lt. Shuhandler Memorial Fund.

'Guys and Dolls' show

The Hale Centre Theatre will present the classic musical play "Guys and Dolls" beginning Thursday through April 3.

This tale of love and romance is set in New York City during the rollicking 1940s and is filled with memorable songs.

The theater is located at 50 W. Page Ave. Ticket prices are $17 for matinees and $19 for evening shows.

Landscaping workshop

The city of Gilbert is hosting free weekly workshops to help teach residents how to improve their landscaping while saving money and water. This week's event will show participants the advantages of installing a drip irrigation system. Learn everything you need to know to design and install your own system. The class will be taught by a certified irrigation specialist 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Gilbert Public Works Department office, 525 N. Lindsay Road.

Advanced registration is required to attend.

'Dogs Gone Wild'

Ventriloquist and comedian Todd Oliver takes the stage with his three "talking" dogs - Irving, Lucy and Elvis. The dogs showcase their unique and humorous personalities to delight audiences of all ages. The show is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Higley Center for the Performing Arts, 4132 E. Pecos Road.

Ticket prices range from $20 to $28, and $15 for children 12 and under.

Health fair

The "Sense of Health: Growing a Healthy Community" health fair will be held at Spectrum Town Center, 2530 S. Val Vista Road, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Learn about a wide variety of health care options and solutions from the more than 65 vendors on hand. There will be live music and activities for kids.
