The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce is organizing the fourth annual Adopt A Senior program this holiday season for the town's homebound and low-income senior citizens, in partnership with the Gilbert Senior Center.
The Chamber is collecting wish lists from home-bound or low-income senior residents with help from the senior center, and asking members of the community to adopt a senior by requesting a wish list, then shopping for and returning the items to the Chamber by Tuesday, Dec. 6. An average list costs $25 and may include a number of needed items.
The Chamber also is seeking donations of miscellaneous items in quantities of 50 or more for goody bags to be distributed to low-income seniors at a holiday party.
