The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce is organizing the fourth annual Adopt A Senior program this holiday season for the town's homebound and low-income senior citizens, in partnership with the Gilbert Senior Center.

The Chamber is collecting wish lists from home-bound or low-income senior residents with help from the senior center, and asking members of the community to adopt a senior by requesting a wish list, then shopping for and returning the items to the Chamber by Tuesday, Dec. 6. An average list costs $25 and may include a number of needed items.

The Chamber also is seeking donations of miscellaneous items in quantities of 50 or more for goody bags to be distributed to low-income seniors at a holiday party.

To fulfill a wish list or donate to the goody bags, contact the Chamber by phone at (480) 892-0056, ext. 107, or send an e-mail to desiree@gilbertchamber.com. Monetary donations will also be accepted to purchase gift cards for unfulfilled wish lists. Donations can be sent to the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce, PO Box 527, Gilbert, AZ, 85299.
