Country music fans won't want to miss this show. Legendary musician Ronnie Milsap has won numerous awards and sold millions of records over the course of his lengthy career. He'll take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Higley Center for the Performing Arts, 4132 E. Pecos Road. His large catalog of songs includes 40 No. 1 hits.

Higley centennial celebration

The Higley School District will celebrate its 100th birthday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at Higley Elementary, 3391 E. Vest Ave. The district will commemorate growing from a single small schoolhouse to its current state, which serves over 10,000 students.

There will be food, rides, prizes, games and more at this fun-filled event.

Genealogy club

Learn how to explore the history of your family with Steve Packer, outreach coordinator at the Mesa Family History Center.

The club will meet at 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the Perry Branch Library, 1965 E. Queen Creek Road.

Dinosaur dig

Children 5 and older are invited to learn about the dinosaurs that used to call the area home. Kids will also be able to take part in a dino dig to unearth fossils.

The program will run 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Riparian Preserve, 2757 E. Guadalupe Road. The workshop will cost $5, and advance registration is required.

'Guys and Dolls' show

The Hale Centre Theatre will present the classic musical play "Guys and Dolls" through April 3.

This tale of love and romance is set in New York City during the rollicking 1940s and is filled with memorable songs.

The theater is located at 50 W. Page Ave. Ticket prices are $17 for matinees and $19 for evening shows.

Landscaping workshop

Gilbert is hosting free weekly workshops to help teach residents how to improve their landscaping while saving money and water. This week's event will show participants how to properly maintain their irrigation system. Learn how to troubleshoot and fix problems that may arise in any type of irrigation system. The class will be taught from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Gilbert Public Works Department office, 525 N. Lindsay Road.

Advanced registration is required to attend.

Recreation classes
