Gilbert will host German leaders this week as part of an international fellowship program to study city management and government administration.
Four fellows in the international McCloy Fellowship in Urban Affairs will arrive Wednesday to learn how the local government works and to take tours of Gilbert and the Grand Canyon, according to a town spokeswoman.
Gilbert was selected to host the fellows after Assistant Town Manager Tami Ryall was accepted into the program last year. Ryall spent a month touring cities and meeting high-level officials in Germany in September, said Beth Lucas, a Gilbert spokeswoman. Gilbert also hosted a group of journalists from Africa in October as part of the partnership with the International Visitor Leadership Program, Lucas said.
