A weekend of nasty weather has only temporarily curtailed Gilbert's scheduled festivities, as the town has decided to reschedule the Gilbert Days Parade for Dec. 7.
Originally scheduled to take place last weekend, the influx of rain forced the town to cancel the original event that included the parade and Red White and Blues Festival. On Monday afternoon, however, the town announced the parade portion will take place on Dec. 7 beginning at 9 a.m.
The route will encompass Gilbert Road between Juniper and Elliot roads, and will cause Gilbert Road to close for traffic from Guadalupe to just south of Elliot Road at Mesquite Street between 7 a.m. and noon.
Visit gilbertaz.gov or call (480) 503-6200 for more information about the parade.
