Constitution Fair

One of the many activities that make up Gilbert's Constitution Week, the annual Constitution Fair will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Mesquite High School, 500 S. McQueen Road. The patriotic event will feature fireworks, live music, educational displays, food, games and activities for all ages. Admission is $2 per person or $10 per family.

Butterfly and dragonfly walk

Enjoy cooler early-morning temperatures while getting out into nature and learning more about butterflies and dragonflies. Take the opportunity to observe these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. Basic identification techniques will be taught as part of this all-ages walk, which is scheduled for 7 a.m. Saturday at the Riparian Preserve, 2757 E. Guadalupe Road. The cost is $5. Bicycle repair class

If something goes wrong with your bicycle while on a ride, would you know how to fix it? Don't be left stuck alongside the road. Global Bikes will hold a basic bicycle maintenance and repair class. Learn about pre-ride checks, how to change a flat, chain repair and more. This free workshop will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Southeast Regional Library, 775 N. Greenfield Road.

Evening tour of the Riparian Preserve

Take advantage of cooler evening temperatures and explore Gilbert's scenic Riparian Preserve, 2757 E. Guadalupe Road. The tour will meet in the preserve's parking lot at 7 p.m. Friday.

On Saturday at 8:30 a.m., plant biologist Jennie Rambo will discuss the preserve's plant life. Learn how you can use plants to attract wildlife to your own home garden.

A $2 donation is suggested for each event.

'She Loves Me' stage show

The Hale Centre Theatre will present the play "She Loves Me" beginning Monday and running through Oct. 10. This romantic comedy musical is set in Europe in the 1930s and details the love between pen pals.

The theater is located at 50 W. Page Ave. Ticket prices are $22 for matinees and $24 for evening shows.

Family story time

Families with children of all ages are invited to attend this program from 6 p.m. to 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday in the Perry Branch Library, 1965 E. Queen Creek Road. Activities include stories, music, movement and crafts.

Recreation classes available

Looking to get the kids out of the house? Interested in picking up a new skill? Registration is open for a fall slate of Gilbert recreational classes.

Take a look at the wide variety of activities offered by the town at the Freestone Recreation Center, 1141 E. Guadalupe Road. Dance, sports, education, fitness and martial arts are just a few of the courses offered. Registration fees and starting dates vary.
